Apparently, Ximending is the place for Taiwanese celebrities to make a public appearance (Jay Chou?) as well as for lesser known performers to sing to the public. At one of the pedestrianised cross roads, we came across a singer crooning her way through a few tracks - probably her own judging by her posters and CD's.
The pedestrianised junction was pretty big so that there was still a big circle of space in front of the singer despite a wavering crowd of onlookers. You can hear a bit of her singing in the video below:

Within the grounds of the urban luxury destination, Roppongi Hills, is the headquarters for the TV Asashi network. It's not a major exhibition hall as we would have hoped for, but since we were in the area exploring Roppongi Hills, we wandered in and were at least able to explore the foyer and the shop containing a mix of TV Asashi memorabilia and general tourist items.

Like zoos, aquariums are also top of my list when visiting any city. The Sunshine International Aquarium is an intriguing rooftop aquarium located on the top floor of the World Import Mart Building, in Sunshine City.
Sunshine City at Ikebukuro
The curiously named Sunshine City is a complex of four buildings dedicated to shopping and is so named since it's like a city within these buildings. It's perhaps worth a visit if you truly enjoy perusing all forms of retail therapy, though you can relax in a restaurant or bar if you're on the way to check out attractions like the aquarium.
It's too small to include the scale of rides like roller coasters, but does includes forteen attractions and three food areas made up of the Gyoza Stadium, Ice Cream City and the Tokyo Dessert Republic. There's also the Healing forest which features a number of therapy salon booths.
Though crude as a result of the corrugated texture, the model was still fascinatingly detailed, depicting several high rise blocks, complete with interiors and atmospheric back lighting.
In February 2009, Mark and Linh moved from the UK to the Far East to spend 16 months living in Hong Kong and traveling around East Asia. This website documents their journey.
