The Arts at Waterloo Street
Part of our wandering in Singapore took us down Waterloo Street in downtown Singapore, which comes off Bras Basah Road. We began down a quiet end of the street on which there were a few large properties and then some creatively ornate ones. Quite a few small theatre venues and galleries seemed to be located here.

Traditional Charms of Samcheong-dong
Samcheong-dong is touted as one of the trendiest cultural centres of Seoul and a wander along its quaint and charming streets showed us why.

Traditional Hanok architecture can be seen in Samcheong-dong along with unique boutiques, stylish cafes and creative product shops.

Leeum Samsung Museum of Art - Designed by Three Renown Architects
The Leeum Samsung Museum of Art was recommended to us and it wasn't listed in our guidebook. As it turned out, it was well worth our time although we couldn't take any photos inside the exhibition space.

The museum is billed as a dynamic art complex that houses two major exhibitions, one for traditional Korean art and the other for contemporary and modern art from Korea and around the world.

The Artistic and Crafty Insadong
Insadong - an area swarming with artistic shops and craft stores selling all kinds of paper artwork, brushes and Korean folk crafts. It was also the site of our first choice hotel which was fully booked!

Located close to Anguk metro station (Line 3), we found ourselves first at the north end of Insadong gil, a long pedestrian intersection that winds down through much of Insadong.

The Unmissable National Palace Museum of Taipei
The National Palace Museum was recommended to us as a definite visit and in our guide book there were two whole pages dedicated to it. Its full of ancient artifacts and if that's your thing, then this museum should be on your list.

Sadly, I couldn't take any photos inside, so I only took some exterior shots. On the plus side, I actually started sketching again, making quick ball-point renderings of objects that inspired me.
