The Hello Kitty Oz show seemed to be Sanrio Puroland's big production of the moment. It's the longest at 40 minutes and seemed to have had a bigger portion of the budget pie, with more lavish set pieces, acts, costumes and cast members.
It's big (and possibly new) enough that even before setting foot in Tama Center, we had already seen flyers for the Oz show and wondered how and why there was a Hello Kitty production. It all made sense when we realised it was a show at Sanrio Puroland.
Oz was the first show that we watched and its based on the Wizard of Oz, albeit with the Hello Kitty touch, together with lots of song and dance with the "drama". As Linh mentioned in her previous post, the dialogue is all in Japanese, but its pretty easy to follow what's happening.
We recorded almost 14 minutes from the show - check out this video below to get an idea of the production.
In February 2009, Mark and Linh moved from the UK to the Far East to spend 16 months living in Hong Kong and traveling around East Asia. This website documents their journey.
