Design Festa at Tokyo Big Sight - Performers and Entertainment
17 May, 2009 Sunday
If all the creative work on display were not enough at the May 2009 Design Festa at Tokyo Big Sight, then surely the performers were.
Peppered throughout the double floor space were several artist performers playing ad hoc gigs and art pieces to small crowds of onlookers.
This group mixed experimental electronica with saxophone and dance to create audio visual art.
A humorously outfitted robot-man simply wandered in the direction of the arrow, and was pestered by kids that constantly spun the arrow in different directions.
This guy was dressed in a loose, black body cloak whilst puppeteering his skeletal creations - a snake and a hand.
The main indoor stage featured this group amongst other acts. The singer regularly threw out a trademarked series of hand shapes during the chorus of one of his songs that a number of standing audience members followed.
The guy in the gundam robot suit simply slashed his samurai sword in time to the music.

On a more conservative level, we did also witness far simpler-dressed bands belting out their tracks in little makeshift stages.
